Survive Night Raids in Taming Defense
Master dusk prep and wave defense so early nights build the habits you need for The Lich.
Night raids are the heartbeat of Taming Defense on Roblox. Days exist so you can gather, tame, and build; nights exist to test whether that work holds. The Lich only joins on Day 20, but the nights before that already teach repair pacing, pet orders, and choke discipline. Treat early raids as practice exams—not filler.
This guide covers dusk rituals, wave pacing from Day 1–19, pet and player roles, and how night defense feeds the 365-day goal. Pair it with Base Building for geometry and Day Progression for the calendar.
What a night raid actually is
When the sun drops, hostile waves push your perimeter. Intensity scales with your day count. Early nights are short teaching fights; late teens feel like dress rehearsals for boss pressure. After Day 20, The Lich stacks on top of normal raiders every night.
Winning a night means your character and core base survive until dawn with enough materials left to repair. Clearing every last mob is optional; surviving with a rebuildable gate is mandatory.
Dusk checklist (every sunset)
- Repair walls to full and restock kits beside the gate.
- Press V, then U so pets Guard the choke—not Follow into fog.
- Fill hotbar 1–6 with repair tools, heals, and combat items.
- Close gates or interactables with F.
- Stand where you can see the main approach; enable Shift lock if you use it.
Print-friendly keybinds live on the Controls Cheatsheet. Habit lists also appear in Tips and Tricks.
Days 1–7 nights
Expect lighter waves. Goals: learn camera control (M1, R aim), keep one Guard pet alive, and notice which wall segment takes the first hit. Do not expand the base mid-night. Spend daytime Gold from codes on closing gaps before Day 8.
Days 8–19 nights
Waves thicken. You should already have a closed ring (Base Building). Practice the Attack toggle (T) only after Guard holds the line. Stock food for pets via How to Tame. If a night costs more Gold to rebuild than you earned that day, shrink the footprint—economy tips sit in Gold and Ruby.
Day 20+ nights
Read Survive The Lich before this bracket. Normal raiders still spawn; The Lich is the headline threat. Outer layers may be sacrificial if the inner core and player live.
Solo vs co-op nights
Solo players need compact chokes one Guard pet can cover. Co-op groups should assign a single “gate captain” who owns pet orders so U commands do not cancel. Deeper role splits live on Solo and Co-op.
Common night-wipe causes
- Pets left on Follow outside the walls
- Open corners “for later”
- Empty hotbars when the first breach hits
- Chasing loot into fog instead of repairing
- Skipping dusk Guard re-issue after a patch or rejoin
Daytime work that makes nights easy
Nights are scored in daylight. Gather loops, tame food stock, and wall repairs before afternoon end determine whether dusk is calm or chaotic. The embedded gameplay clip shows material collection and stay-awake prep—mirror that energy instead of rushing rare pets at sunset. Spend code Gold from the Codes Hub on repair kits before cosmetics, and keep Gold and Ruby priorities in mind when the shop tempts you mid-week.
Mobile players should skim the Mobile Guide so pet buttons and hotbar taps are ready before the first wave, not discovered during a breach.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
When do night raids start in Taming Defense?
Every night from Day 1. Waves escalate with your day count, and The Lich joins the roster from Day 20 onward.
What should I do before each night?
Repair walls, re-issue Guard on pets, refill hotbar slots 1–6, close the gate, and stand at the choke before sunset.
Are early nights important if The Lich is on Day 20?
Yes. Early raids teach repair pacing and pet orders. Players who skip that practice usually wipe on the first Lich night.
Do I need to kill every enemy to win a night?
Survival until dawn with a rebuildable core matters more than a perfect clear. Prioritize the gate and pet Guard lines.
